
Christians on Easter Monday holiday converged at Rubaga Cathedral to pay their last respects to Hoima Bishop emeritus Edward Baharagate. In Mass led by Kampala Archbishop Paul Ssemwogerere, Christians applauded the late Baharagate exceptional leadership, and service for the church, during the sermon, Archbishop Paul ssemwogerere described the late as a selfless servant who served the Lord with unwavering commitment and also did social works. He reminded Christians of life after death and encouraged them to work and prepare for it.

The late bishop was ordained a priest on December 7, 1958. He was appointed Bishop of Hoima on July 7, 1969, and was consecrated on August 1, 1969, by Pope Paul VI. On March 9, 1991, Baharagate retired as the Bishop of Hoima and he will be laid to rest in hoima on 12 Wednesday 2023.
