
The law tabled by the Kampala central MP Muhammad Nsereko finally brought into law. This was brought to the attention of the public on Thursday 13th by the Presidential Press Unit. The PPU released the statement indicating how the president has signed in four Bills in law which were passed by the parliament in September.
The amendment of the computer misuse act makes it a crime writing, recording a person’s video or voice or taking a photo without authorization, The law also covers and prohibits sharing information, which is likely to degrade, another person, group, tribe, religion, or gender, now if you found guilty over the computer misuses act you at risk going to prison for up to 10 years or a fine of 10 million or both
Other signed bills into law include Physical Planners’ Registration Act, the Kampala Capital City (Amendment) Act, the Mining and Minerals Act, and the Computer Misuse (Amendment) Bill.
