Regional Assistants to the Mufti have raised concerns about individuals seeking to acquire Muslim lands in their respective regions. These concerns were expressed during a one-day orientation programme organized by the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) National Management Committee, led by Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda.
The purpose of the orientation program was to educate the Regional Assistants on their supervisory responsibilities and their adherence to the amended UMSC Constitution.

During the meeting held at the UMSC conference hall on Wednesday, Mubaje commended the Regional Assistants for effectively representing his office in their respective areas.
He also highlighted the importance of coordination between the Regional Assistants and the National Management Committee. Mubaje emphasized that departmental heads at the UMSC Headquarters should inform the Regional Assistants before conducting any field work in Muslim Districts.
Each Regional Assistant presented a quarterly report outlining the accomplishments and challenges faced in their areas. One of the major challenges raised was the threat posed to Muslim lands and properties by land grabbers. In response to the land issue, Baker Magaino, Chairperson of the UMSC Property and Endowment Trust, discussed possible ways to utilize the land and stressed the importance of referring the matters to the Trust for a final decision, as outlined in the UMSC Constitution.
During the meeting, dates were set for laying foundation stones for the construction of Muslim Regional Headquarters across the country. Committees were also formed to organize Regional Quran recitation, sports competitions, and other Islamic social events for the youth and women.
