Despite the hardships caused by the hilly mountain rwenzori terrain, Allan Andiema managed to win the longest category of the ever first of its kind, the tuskerlite mountain rwenzori marathon. Allan broke a record after managing to win the 42 KM mens category marathon winning him self a golden medal and a prize of 5, 000, 000shs beating Sadic Bahati who won silver and Patrick Omara who came in third to scoop bronze.
“I used much effort on climbing up the hills and i left gravity do the rest while i sloped the hill” Allan stated when our sources interacted with him.

Participants didn’t run out of water since water points where placed after each 3 KMs to keep the participants hydrated
“We are proud of what we have accomplished here today and I thank the organizers who have contributed to the success of this event. I’m certain that this marathon is going to transform business in Kasese. Already the signs are evident,” UBL Marketing and Innovations Director, Emmy Hashakimana noted
He went head to say that the marathon has opened kasese to the outside world and will help boost tourism and promises that the next edition shall be much bigger.
